How to Put on a Duvet Cover the Easy Way

Hi there! One task that I used to dread is changing the duvet covers. It was not a pretty sight! I would end up brawling with my comforter and duvet cover and usually, they would win and I am knocked down for the count!
Well, no more fretting, I found the ultimate trick and the easiest way to put on a duvet cover, seriously!
I am sure I am late to the this party…
Many of you may already know this awesome trick, some call it burrito method, California roll, sushi roll, etc.
For those of you like me who haven’t been enlightened, here we go…
How to put on duvet cover effortlessly
Gather your insert and duvet cover
Turn your duvet cover inside out and lay it flat on the bed. Placing the opening at the foot of the bed.
If there is a pattern on the top of the cover, place the pattern side on the bottom.
Then lay your comforter on top of the cover.
Align the corners of the comforter and the cover at each end.
Then starting at the head of the bed, roll the comforter and the duvet cover till it reaches the foot of the bed.
When you get to the end, reach into the opening of the duvet cover flip it over one end of the corner exposing the right side of the duvet cover.
Do the same to the other end.
Once both sides are flipped over, flip over the middle.
Then just roll to the head of the bed and give it a shake. That is all to it!!
It really is that simple!
Here’s a youtube video of the burrito roll method to show you how easy it is to do.
So, what does this mean to me? Time to go shopping for more duvet covers!

I found clips at Bed Bath & Beyond (I’m sure Amazon probably has them too) that go on the corners (or wherever you want to put them) that hold the insert and duvet together. I just throw the whole thing in the washer and dryer with the clips on, then put in back on the bed. No struggles at all.

If you have a two story house the easiest way is to use the staircase. Grab the two corners of the bedspread and slide them in to the top corners of the cover. Grab the duvet cover AND the corners of the bedspread tightly, hang over the banister and shake. Done.

Have a question about this project?
Hello there,
Why not solve the problem altogether = 3 choices 1. Sleep inside the duvet cover instead of using sheets and pop the duvet on top. (If you don't like that look, pop a throw bedspread on top). 2. Go back to sheets and blankets. 3. Use a top sheet as well as the Duvet Cover (that way you can go another week before you have to change it again).
It’s come to this?!
