Trash to Treasure: Popcorn Tin

by Erin
(IC: blogger)
I am becoming a huge fan of redoing rooms with a $100 budget. There are so many items that I usually think of as trash, that all of the sudden take on a new purpose. I have used a piece of old cardboard to create a chalkboard sign for our laundry room. I've used a cereal box to create a "faux metal" lint box ... and now I'm using a popcorn tin.
Did any of you get one of these popcorn tins for Christmas? We did. Although they typically have a cute picture on them, I never know what to do with them once we've devoured the popcorn inside...
... but for some reason, I knew they would come in handy one day, so I saved them.
I had this old, nasty trash bin in their bathroom, and decided that, with a little spray paint, I could turn the popcorn tin into a trash can. I tried adding some lettering to it (which is completely optional), but in the end, I liked it better plain.
