Do you have picture(s) so we can get a better idea of what you have and what you might need? What do you need space for? Small appliances, food storage?Helpful Reply -

Put cup hooks under your cabinets to hang cups. Build a shelf much like a bench (an end piece on each end and a few slats of 1"x3" slats) and set this at the back of your counter. Make this as tall as the things you want to put underneath...mine is about 9" deep front to back and the clearance underneath is 9". Make it as long as you need and put a brace along the back. This gives you 2 levels on which to put things. Paint it any color to go with your kitchen or leave it unpainted. Mine is unpainted.I went to the Dollar Tree and found red bins that fit great underneath...I put bread, candies, etc. in them. Then I set the canisters on top!Helpful Reply -

Depending on the size of your kitchen you can use a book case and put cook books and appliances you don't use all the time on the different shelves. Or you can use it for can goods and box items. If you don't want people to see what is on it buy or make a curtain.Helpful Reply -

When I was faced with a tiny kitchen, I used the walls beneath the upper cupboards for storage. I bought little baskets and turned them into a spice rack over the counter I did the most food prep. I was able to hang one of those 3 tiered baskets over my sink and used it for CLEAN dishcloths, dish towels, and hot pads as the stove was by the sink. I used wire shelves in the cabinets to divide the space as the shelves weren't adjustable. I stored extras in the coat closet that was right by the kitchen. We didn't have many coats and our bedrooms had large enough closets. When guests came, since we did not have animals, I just laid their coats on the bed. The best suggestion I can make is survey your home and see what you have NEAR the kitchen that could be re-purposed for kitchen use. Also, consider storing things you don't necessarily need in the kitchen in a bedroom closet (spare rolls of paper towels, cookware that you don't use every day, surplus canned items, etc). We had our microwave on a stand in the dining room for many years as I was not willing to sacrifice a counter and since we were renters, I wasn't going to install an over the stove one. Last, re-evaluate what you have. Is there anything you really do not NEED that is taking up space? Hope I was able to give you some usable ideas.Helpful Reply -

I put a pegboard on the soffit above the sink and I hang things like measuring cups and spoons there. Also, get your knives out of the drawers and onto a knife holder on the wall.Helpful Reply -
