I put hooks on the wooden posts, heavy ones. Then I made sure I had a sturdy wire loops on each end of my kayaks. I keep two outside, but rain can come down through, so you need some rubber sheeting to lay over the hole. I don't like water in the kayaks.
Amazon has tons of hooks for hanging a kayak. You can check them out and read the reviews to see how customers like them.
Hi Marilyn, There are great hooks meant to go into wood (thick decking wood) that are strong enough to hold it. Alternatively, you could build a little platform (like a shelf) under the deck that the kayak could easily be slid on and off of.

You can get a set of wheels that attach to boats - that would make it easy to pull it in and out and it will keep it off the ground.
Use wood 2 by 4’s spaced apart, and set across it.
