Make cute flower pots using plastic containers you have at home. A cheap and easy DIY option for your patio decoration this summer!
Start by cutting the plastic container in a shape suitable for a flower pot. Don't forget to drill a few holes in the bottom for draining.
Then, mix and match paint to get beautiful colors. I used a cupcake foil pan as a palette :)
If you are anything like me and can't draw to save your life, focus on abstract shapes, like circles and lines.

Once the paint is dry, use a thin brush and black paint to outline the different shapes and colors.
This i the final result! I've already have these pots out on my patio for more than three months and the paint is holding up very well! You can see I experimented with different designs.
For plant saucers I used small transparent plastic boxes or small plastic plates for the round pots. Check out my blog post for this fun and very cheap project for more tips and pictures! You can also see some matching DIY patio chairs I made using the leftover paint.
