DIY Painted Porch Rug

by Front Porch Ideas
(IC: blogger)
We were looking for a fun and easy update for our porch - and painting our plain (and a bit boring...) rug has given our porch a fresh spring update!
Painting a rug is inexpensive (I used paint I already had!) and fairly quick - it's an update you can do in a day easily. And I've got step-by-step directions as well as video where I share how you can update your porch for spring and summer with a fun painted rug!

You can use any rug - outdoor, or even indoor like I did - for this project. It would even be a great way to revive a seen-better-days rug, too!
I used a simple grid pattern that I created with duct tape, but there are many ways you can make a design that's your own.
After laying the pattern, the painting actually went really quick, and we were enjoying our new porch rug the same day! See all the steps here:

Hello, you mentioned any type of paint. I am wondering if you sealed it to protect it from the elements and if so, what did you use? Thank you kindly.
