I took a small secondhand buffet with hutch and turned it into a funky potting table.
Sadly, I don't have a "before" picture but I'm sure you can imagine it in white. I removed the drawers, doors and hinges, scrubbed it with TSP and gave it a light sanding. I painted the body a lovely green colour.
I painted the front of the drawers and doors an eggplanty purple and did some stenciling in white. It looks pretty bold but I'll fix that shortly
I mixed up a white wash (watered down paint) and added a little gray to it to help with making the drawers and doors more "aged". Before it was dry, I wiped some of the wash off with a wet cloth and did some light sanding in area to make it look more worn.
I found some cool knobs online to make it tie in to the garden even more. I gave them a couple coats of non yellowing outdoor clear coat to protect them from the elements.
They turned out better than I'd hoped!
I also did a little stenciling on the top of the cabinet.
I wanted to line the drawers, so I mod podged different fabric in each drawer and clear coated it.
After I put everything back together, I was thrilled with the final result!
The inside of the cupboard was a little ugly, so I did some paint swirly effects to hide it.
Now it's been in the garden a couple months and it looks like it been there forever 😊
UPDATE: For those who are worried about it being outside in the elements, this will be moved into the shed when the weather turns 💖😊⛈
