Birds are always a great addition to any garden and by adding bird houses you will most certainly attract them. Not just any old house will do however as birds are pretty fussy tenants.

I know they can be a real bother. Lucky for us we only have a few squirrels each season so it's not really a problem. They are pretty hard to keep out if they want in:)

We have a few bird houses mounted on metal poles & it may sound mean but we grease the poles & the squirrels just slide down! They don't get hurt &they don't try to get up there again!
