I have seen these stones done on a smaller scale but here is one upsized . My elephant ear plant out did itself this year . The leaves were huge . I actually used a few of the small ones for the stones
I scooped out a walkway to place the stones when they were done.
This photo is for size reference see the soda can near them?
I laid them out approx. where I wanted them to be.
Here the two are drying . I had a little concrete left so I made smaller accent stones . I used rubber gloves and scooped it out of the wheel barrow and patted it in place
This is laying out the next set of leaves .
The last 2 stones I used quick set so they are dry already the next day .
These need a few more days because it wasn't quick set
I flipped the quick set ones over and peeled off the leaves . After a few days I will use a wire brush to clean off some of the mulch. As you see there is an edge around the leaf . The next step explains that.
This is the leaf sunk in the mulch the extra edge seen in the last view gives it a bit more stability so they don't wobble .
This the one that the leaf tore and some concrete went thru it . But I will use it cause that bump will wear off In time.
