How to Use Your Old Glass Bottles to Create Nice Flower Bed Border

Over the last year our household had collected quite a few white and green glass bottles from juice drinks and a couple of odd wine bottles too thinking that they would come in useful somehow on a DIY project .
So when we decided to prettify up the lawn and garden with a new flower bed they came in very handy!
The area you decide to dig out and shape is going to dictate how many bottles you will need but like our attempt if you haven’t got quite enough to begin with then always you can add as time goes on until you get the look you desire.
It is hard work to dig out from a lawn and depth is dependant on the quality of your soil and our is very thick clay so we had to remove lots and replace with topsoil and compost to give the plants the best chance to grow well.
It’s best to take tops off the bottles before placing them into the earth and this when in position will help self water the plants a little with sun creating condensation that runs down into the ground.
Position the bottles around the edge of the flower bed. I alternate green and white glass for effect .
Keep building up the flower bed and plant up as you would like.
I’m so pleased with our new unique flower bed border. Just need the new plants to grow!
