Hosta are excellent shade plants that have beautiful purple flower stems on them. They multiple and grow like crazy.Helpful Reply -

google shade plantings or any nursery and yu can see pics of a huge variety. Note what thrives in your zone and what will not attract hungry deer, rabbits or the like. I have a fenced in garden with several varieties of hosta that look great together and pretty much thrive on neglect, an attribute I look for. you can also try DavesGarden.com, or your local library for more pics and advice.
