My son in law a large yard and three small dogs. He takes a section of the yard (side) by the kitchen door and puts rebar and netting so they can't get past it. If you have a small dog it would work.Helpful Reply -

You might have to go out into the yard with her a few times to show her where to go. Pet stores have 'puppy pads' that have a urine-like scent that motivates them to go on the pad. After a few days of success, with lots of praise, you can remove the pad or just have a few times with it being slightly buried, and she'll associate that spot with peeing. If you ever mop up an accident with paper towels, those can be used temporarily too. All dogs, even the best trained do have accidents, and 2 years is still quite young.Helpful Reply -

When I was growing up, and we moved constantly, we always put in a dog run for our GSW with a gravel bottom to use part of it as her toilet. Now I dog sit, I just just use a pooper scooper after the Labrador Retreiver and Great Pyreanne.Helpful Reply -

Try an area with the same mulch/wood chips as the planting bed.Helpful Reply -

I used to put down a piece of tarp, or you could use an old shower curtain on the ground when it starts snowing. I kept a broom on the porch because the snow was easy to sweep off the plastic. I had a daschund and she wouldn't go in the snow. I had to go out each time sweep the snow off and then lift the tarp so she could go on the grass, then cover it back up. A small price to pay and she got used to it really fast.Helpful Reply -

Train the dog to go in whatever area you designate as it's potty area.Helpful Reply -
