Early spring and late fall is the best time to seed. Early in the morning after A heavy rain gets the best result. Be sure to water every early morning and then again after 4, but no later than an hour before sunset.Helpful Reply -

Sometimes I think seed should be covered with a little straw to keep it in place and also from burning up.Helpful Reply -

i got the yellow bag of "black cow" fertilize dirt. I put a thin layer over the area I was going to seed. Then put out the seed and put a thin layer over that. Watered morning and afternoon. Two weeks later....grass! My daughter had the same success! Don't give up it is well worth the beautiful green grass!Helpful Reply -

I had this happen to me. The second time around I took the rake to the area that I used it on. I then put the seed down. Next, I put some good quality potting soil on top. Then I stomped on it before I watered. I am in Denver where it gets in the 90's in the summer. Very low humidity.Helpful Reply -

I used that stuff and the grass is totally different then the rest of my grass. It grew I over seeded area didn't bother with top soil. I didn't rack I just watered afterwards. So it works but be prepared for strange grass that grows. I mean it's even a different shade than my grass. Oh and it did grow in shade and in blistering sun.Helpful Reply -
