I would like to make a sitting area here. Any ideas?

I would weed whack the weeds or kill them as close to the ground as possible. Then apply a weed block (you can buy it, but 1-2" stacks of old newspapers work well), then add a layer of pea gravel.Helpful Reply -

Kill the grass and weeds with vinegar, then install a concrete stepping stone pavers 12" size or larger. Here is how!https://www.todayshomeowner.com/video/patio-pavers/16/https://www.pinterest.com/pin/263882859386521980/https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/outdoors/patios-and-decks/build-a-patio-with-pavershttps://goo.gl/images/TdSZPEHelpful Reply -

I would remove all plant life from the house out, to the dimensions you want your seating area to be. Use either bricks or pavers set properly in sand. Hang a window box on the house planted with colorful flowers. add seating and small tables to hold things or if the room is large enough a table to eat from. It is hard to tell how this would be situated, vis a vis the street and public spaces.Helpful Reply -

Quickest and easiest would be to use a grass killer of some sort, be it vinegar or boiling water, or roundup type chemical. put the weed block down, you can use gravel, rocks, wood mulch, etc., but I would suggest having pavers under the chairs, tables, etc. so that they are stable and don't rock or tip. From there you can place your furniture down and I would add some potted plants to help it be more relaxing.Helpful Reply -

Cardboard makes a nice weed blocker. Then add sand or small stones and pavers. Good luckHelpful Reply -
