Or you could not use dangerous chemicals, just cover the grass with ground cloth (you can get it at Walmart, or any big-box store.) The cloth blocks the sun and nutrients so the grass dies. Pour your rock over the cloth and you're finished. We did a portion of our yard that way years ago. It still looks very nice.Helpful Reply -

You can rent a Sod cutter... that will remove the top layer of grass and soil... then put down a good quality landscape fabric (don't cheap out here) and then gravel or stones.. you might want to leave an border (curvy looks better) to add plants and trees...Helpful Reply -

I just did this. All I used was plain old white vinegar. Worked like a charm. Put in a pump sprayer and spray away!Helpful Reply -

Fastest way to get rid of the grass is to burn it out - If you choose this method it might be a good idea to have a professional do this.Helpful Reply -

Just remember if this is not a common landscaping theme in your location - it could make you home difficult to sell. Using wood mulch would make it easier to change your mind - if you don't like it.To kill all vegetation - horticultural vinegar 20% .Helpful Reply -
