Hi Nancy, If you live in an area that has creek stone or field stone you can collect for free, you line your edging with garbage bags to hold back the weeds, then place the stones all along the edging. Here is a link to lots of beautiful ideas using stone: https://www.google.com/search?q=using+pallet+wood+for+garden+edging&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjVjMrShsrUAhWG6iYKHbo9B7oQsAQIPA&biw=1280&bih=635#tbm=isch&q=using+creek+and+field+stones+for+garden+edgingAnother no cost idea is pallet wood. You can usually find free pallets. you do the same thing with the garbage bags and cut your pallet wood to line the edging. You could even paint it a nice color for interest!
