Your best solution would be to build a edge to keep in the bark, there are no heavy barks,or use stones.Helpful Reply -

In our area, the only mulch available the doesn't float is cypress mulch. It is a medium brown color and looks like a mix of shredded wood and chips. It works well here.Helpful Reply -

You might be wanting something that isn't possible. Bark and heavy rain just equal movement. BUT...if you put something in the way to stop the bark from moving with the rain, then you're back in the game! For example, a few medium sized rocks would be an erosion deterrent so the soil and the bark don't keep getting washed away. Or an edge on the area where you're putting the bark - some kind of border (brick, rock, etc) that is raised up higher than your dirt and bark. THis is how you will really, really keep your bark in the garden area and not on your driveway.Helpful Reply -

You need to keep it in place. Any sort of plastic, rock, brick edging will work hopefully.Helpful Reply -

You could use brick - and if you don't like the color, bricks can easily be painted!Helpful Reply -

I have the scalloped stone edgeing that boarders my flower bed. The flower bed is about forty feet from driveway to front porch and is on a slight slope. Ive placed stepping stones here and there all along the flower bed to stand on to weed the areas that I cant reach from kneeling on the sidewalk. The back side of bed is my rock house.Helpful Reply -
