Yard ideas for a desert home?

How can I make my yard more appealing on the eye. I live in the desert where it is extremely hard to grow grass or other green things. HELP!

I have good luck with barrel cactus, agave americana, euphorbia fire sticks, portulacaria, and blue elf aloe. I do lots of pots with color in the winter but about the only thing with lots of color that can take the heat is portulaca. -

put out nice statues, colorful pots and liberal use of walkway tiles. Just forget trying to grow anything . -

Look for plants that are native to your area and plant a mixture of them. Add some walking paths with destination areas and some yard art and furniture with cushions for an extra pop of color. Before you go shopping make a plan how you want it to look when you are finished the slowly put your yard together. Happy gardening -

You can also use some sort of fake grass. I know that it sounds terrible, but these days, they maike some really nice stuff!
