Yard of Flowers 2016 Garden Tour

Every year I share my sister in law's gardens with my blog followers. Kris's garden, dubbed the YARD OF FLOWERS, boasts bright annuals, perennials and lots of whimsy and rusty junk!
Here is a good example of Kris's style, a terracotta troll with dreadlocks to galvanized tubs to a fun rusty garden woman, and all surrounded by a riot of plant colors in various sizes and shapes.
Kris's gardens always have salvaged pathways of rusty iron and old bricks with lots of character.
An iron arbor at the front of the path with William Baffin Roses.
There are little surprises around every corner, like this little rock formation framing a petite hosta.
Why not stack a galvanized boiler on top of an old bird bath pedestal, (especially when the top is broken) and plant it with bold color? Then add additional vertical interest with a raised window frame.
A junk gardener's front step!
This ornate, rusty metal door? adds interest to one of Kris's gardens. More tour photos on my blog.
