How to Install Low Voltage Lighting

After planting all new flowers and shrubs, the finishing touch our yard needed was outdoor lighting. We wanted a landscape lighting project we could do ourselves, so we opted for low voltage lighting we could put in without calling an electrician.
Step 1: Unpack your materials. Screw the top and bottom of your light together. Next, screw the stakes into the bottom.
Step 2: Install the transformer. It needs to be mounted off the ground near an electrical outlet. Mark the holes for the mounting screws, then drill holes for the anchors the press them into place. Press your anchors into place.
Step 3: Layout your fixtures and decide where you want them placed.
Step 4: Lay the cable. Open the cable connectors and attach by pressing together to lock.
Step 5; Bury the cable. Use a shovel to cut a trench, bury the cable and then lay the grass back over it
Step 6: Attach the cable to the transformer. Use the wire cutters to remove the insulation. Ley the transfromer on a flat surface. Insert one end of the stripped wire under the terminal clamping plate marked 'COM' and the seconf to the voltage tap then tighten the screw.
Gently pull on the cable to ensure the connection. Also, make sure there is no insulation under the clamping plate.
Step 7: Plug the transformer in. Let there be light!

What did you guys do about the cord that runs from the transformer to the lights..? I know you buried the part that was in the garden/yard but...what about the part that crosses your sidewalk to the transformer on the house..?
