Best way to save rose bushes from bugs that are eating them?

Our rose bushes are being eaten by something leaving many holes in the leaves. The bushes look horrible. We have never seen any bug on them, so we are not sure what is eating them

We have an avocado tree that has things eating the leaves. All the talk about Dawn dish soap is true. A couple of drops and water is a spray bottle. Spray it good, leave it on for about five minutes then wash good with the garden hose. Our avocado loves it.

Could be Japanese beetles, as well. Try the Sevin, or Imidicloprid. Garlic sprays, in evening or very early morning are also effective.
