How do I keep flying squirrels out of my attic? They sleep up there during the day and fly out at night. We tried rat poison, we tried peppermint spray, we tried moth balls. We tried sealing up the opening where they get in, but they find a way.

set up a speaker system...and play some Heavy Metal music at an annoying volume...they will move out.. or call a pest control professional.. you need to get them out, because they do damage to your storage items, and they urinate on your boxes and insulation , then it smells like a Zoo... or they can even cause fires from chewing on wires... maybe get a cat to chase them around up there till they leave.
Please do not poison them. I understand they are a bit of a problem. Find out how they are getting in and block their access to your attic. They are an amazing little animal, they don't deserve to die just because they use your attic as shelter. Please find a humane way.
Build them squirrel houses, look up online how to build them and they will relocate. Pleas don’t uses poison. Youupset the ecology when you destroy natur.

Try an exterminator. Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. These things can chew your wiring and do all sorts of mischief to your home. The quicker you get rid of them, the better off your home will be.
