ask a master Gardner for help. they will know how to kill it, and remove it. iv'e worn jeans long sleeve shirt and gloves the longer dish washing type to tear the vines out. but then, i'm not allergic to it. there is one way not to remove it. you never want to burn the vines dead or alive. my uncle the arborist, one of his crew tried to burn it off. when the crew inhaled the smoke, it inflamed their lungs their breathing was compromised - ambulance called and off to the hospital.Helpful Reply -

Use Poison Ivy spray available at home Depot and Menards , you don't need to touch the plant, but this spray is strong, and may kill the hedge as well..... Good luck !Helpful Reply -

I am violently allergic to it as well. As much as I hate it, Roundup for Poison Ivy specifically is the way to go. Wear cheap rubber gloves that you will throw away. Have some plastic bags on hand that you can use to protect your hedge by draping it in between. HD and Lowes sell cheap paper “hazmat suits”. Get a few of those. If the base of the vine is visible, cut it and spray it with the Roundup. If not, isolate the leaves with the plastic and spray them. Wait a day or two...if not dead, repeat.Remember to wash any tools you use as the plant oil will remain on them. Throw out the gloves, hazmat suit, and wash your hands and arms in cool soapy water.Helpful Reply -
