Use food grade diatomaceous earth sprinkle around your plants.

You have to be careful with diatomaceous earth because it does not distinquish between bugs....it will kill all the bugs...the good ones and the bad ones, and if a butterfly or honey bee gets into it they will die also....this dries out the bug literally.

I've seen restaurants use a clear plastic bag full of water with a shiny copper penny inside hung around an outdoor patio area. There weren't any flies around while we ate.

Spray them down with horticultral oil and use a organic systemic insect control

You might try to spray the plants with a liquid soap and water solution....this helps with a lot of pests.

I have a Blacklight flashlight (Amazon). when it is dark outside shine the blacklight on the plant. The tomato worms will look iridescent and can be easily seen. Pick them off and destroy. :)

If you are speaking of cut worms, whenever you plant a tomato, put a popsicle stick beside the stem in the ground.

You can use companion planting to help with this problem. It is easily found on the web. One plant protects another. And it really works, I had a garden about 6' by 10' and by companion planting got enough to feed my family of 4 and plenty to can to boot. No one believed me not even my husband but they believed me later. Now I tell all my friends about it and they are amazed at the crops they are bringing in.
