How do you get ants out of an old door I bought? I have used pyrethrum

Do it yourself bug companies sell this product Demon, it kills everything "buggy" especially ants of all types and sizes, plus you can use up the extra around the house. It's $20 here in Florida, for four packs in a foil sleeve, each makes up 1 gallon of spray. I'd get it, mix it in a milk jug, fill a spray bottle and saturate the door, then wrap it in plastic so it was "steeped", after drying it should be fine, I've seen an impervious palmetto bug (large brown roach) crawl in an open door and die within 18-24 inches of the door sill, he/she never even made it off the mat, sent some to Canada to my son who lives in the woods for his ant problem, another son used it for earwigs in his wood pile and accidentally discovered it killed the cinch bugs in his lawn, he saw them, panicked, grabbed the 1st thing at hand til he could buy special spray and they died before he could get to the store. Hope this works and you can salvage your door

Put some cinnamon on it

these may be wood ants ( they chew the wood to dust ) in which case I would get rid of the door . You dont want these ants inflitrating your home and eating the timbers holding up your walls.

try black pepper

I agree with Hb. No use introducing bugs.

Shave you tried using salt wrapping air tight as you can get and placing in sun for a good while. Salt needs to go in the holes the ants have made.

Diatomaceous Earth works well.
