How do you keep flying ants out of hummer feeders?

I put dish soap all over the hook it hangs from and coat the top part of the feeder as well. I have used this method for many years with lots of luck. Ants hate dish soap.Helpful Reply -

Hang the feed with a thin fishing line. It makes it very difficult for the ants to crawl up to the feeder.Helpful Reply -

There is a product called Nectar Fortress Natural Ant Repellent. You only need a tiny bit on your string or hook. The ants will turn around and march away.Helpful Reply -
