Hello Lgo.

I would love to find a solution too! I’ve tried to Tomcat trap and the Sweeney worms and they both didn’t work for my troubles. Some have suggested to get a cat - or- eliminate the grubs in the soil.

In master gardener classes the expert lecturer commented there are possible four solutions, get a cat, get rid of the grubs, get a trap or live with him .Sorry to say I can say I've have not found my answer to eradicate these pests. Good luck in your search for a solution!

Grub X granules applied to dry lawn in early Summer using a lawn spreader, then watered in to entire lawn will have effect for next year, to reduce number of grubs that hatch. Not sure it would work, but you could try spraying mix of clove, eucalyptus, orange, mint essential oils on your lawn to see if it reduces infestation. Organic solutions exist, but take 4 years for full effect.
