I doubt if you can if they can find food. That appears to be the attraction. But you can easily protect bird feeders by putting them inside a squirrel cage or ground feeding cage. A cheaper option is to tie 2 metal hanging baskets together and suspend from your bird pole.
I got them their own feeder and keep it full. If they are n your house, find out how they are getting in and seal off the entrance. Put cotton balls with peppermint oil around openings, as they tend to avoid that scent. Works with mice too.

If you have dogs, let them out when you see squirrels. My dogs love to chase them away
