How to keep bunnies and deer from nibbling at your plants?

Is there a way to keep them from eating and nibbling everything down to nubs naturally without purchasing a spray that needs to be reapplied after rain?

Garlic. Mix two tablespoons of garlic with distilled water in a spray bottler and spray your plants. You'll still have to reapply. You could grow garlic around the plants, however, a lot of plants do not do well growing near garlic. -

Plant foxglove. Deer don't like it and will stay away. -
