Add some details for your fellow Hometalkers! (Optional)Is there anyway to remove a tree stump without a professional? I had to remove seven trees on my property. It would cost me a small fortune to have the stumps removed. Is there anyway for me to do it on my own?

You can buy stump rot or if it's smaller I burned one of mine by digging out around it and soaking with lighter fluid then covered it with charcoal. I had to do it a few times but it worked. I've also seen people burn bigger ones by having bonfires on it over the course of a summer.

drill about a dozen holes in the top of the stump......fill each hole with epsom salt...the stump will rot...then break with a sledge hammer....may take a month or two for the stump to rot YOUTUBE.COM==remove stump with epsom salt

I removed a tree stump using bleach. But caution.....it kiss everything that goes near the roots. First, dig a circle around the trunk to break the roots. Cut the stump down to size and drill a hold about 3 inches deep into the remaining stump. Pour bleach into the hole. Do this every day until the stump is dead then dig it up.
