HI had a similar problem at a client garden site. Tried many things with little effect. I finally resorted to spreading clippings from rose bushes on the ground. The problem went away quite quickly. I removed the clippings shortly after and the issue has not returned.Helpful Reply -

We had this problem only under our front deck...pee-u!! I used moth balls and it helped but then they have a smell of their own also which, to me, is rather unpleasant. I then found some large bags of dried chili peppers, smashed them up and used gloves to spread them out (also wear a mask!). Worked for one season but needed to do it every year. Finally, I bought river rock and put a thick layer under the porch and they don't bother anymore and weeds are not a problem because it is always in the shade.Helpful Reply -

I had this problem years ago. I made raised plant beds and put chicken wire over the top. Kept the cats out and easy to pull up and put new plants in following years.Helpful Reply -

I had the same problem with my flower beds in the front of the house. I threw out orange and lemon peels...worked wonders !!!Cats dislike the smell of rue, lavender and pennyroyal, Coleus canina and lemon thyme — you could plant a few of these throughout the garden. As a bonus, interplanting will attract pollinators and can help to avoid pests too. Cats steer clear of strong citrus scents.Helpful Reply- See 1 previous
