Tuna cans dug in the ground filled with cheap beer. They go for beer And then die. They don’t like to pass over coffee grounds so you could sprinkle grounds in your garden and around your plants. You can ask for used coffee grounds from Starbuck and other places that sell lots of coffee. I’ve used both beer and coffee grounds with some succes.
Make a trap: Slugs will gather in shady, moist areas, such as underneath wooden planks, flower pots, or cardboard boxes. Set these up and check them daily for living snails to gather and discard a long distance from your house. For best results, attract them with one of the following slug foods:

I used snail bait. My dog never bothered it.
