I use a systemic insect killer when I see gnats or white flies in or around the flower pot. A systemic insect killer is a powder or granular product that you sprinkle on top of the soil and water well. The insects eat or sit on the plant and are killed when the insecticide goes up through the plant from the roots. I get it at Earl May or at a hardware store that sells garden supplies.
