Work on it in phases as seasons, time and funds permit. When I bought my current home 18 years ago, funds initially were tight. The back yard was trash, weeds 6+ feet tall, uneven and full of gophers and ants. The first year, I just cleared it all out and leveled it. The following year I installed a sprinkler / drip system and seeded the entire yard with grass. Every year, I add or upgrade something, be it planters, a tree, etc. Still a far cry from a luxurious back yard, but with a bunch of pets, everyone is happy!Helpful Reply -

Hi, The first thing you might want to do is to decide how you are going to use the yard. Do you want a bar-be-que area? A play area, a firepit, or an area to gather a few friends to visit? Once you decide how you might use the area you could divide it up into those kinds of areas and work from there. See how the sun affects the yard at certain times of the day when you'll be able to use it. Do you have a shaded area for after work? If so, you might want to install a few pavers and a couple of lounge chairs or maybe a patio table and some chairs to dine there. Draw a rough plan out on paper and think it through before you start in so you do the work only once! Good luck and consider sharing how it worked out for you. We always love to see what other's have accomplished.Helpful Reply -

Hi Jani - Here's what I did in the corner of our yard. I did it all by myself and it wasn't expensive at all. Hope it gives you some inspiration. Good luck! Hugs, Hollyhttps://pinkfortitude.com/garden-path/Helpful Reply -
