Homemade Beeswax Furniture Polish

Beeswax furniture polish might be your secret ingredient when it comes to restoring, cleaning or polishing wooden objects around your home. And it's so easy to make!
- .5 oz beeswax pellets
- 1.5 oz coconut oil
- 15 drops of lemon or orange essential oil - optional
Beeswax can come in hard chunks, or small pellets. It's just easier to use the pellets rather than cutting off a chunk.
Look for the white beeswax if you don't want any color added. Yellow beeswax might impart a slight color to your furniture.
- Kitchen scale
- Small heat safe canning jar (we used a 4 oz. jar and a screw-top Mason jar lid)
- Spoon for mixing
- Combine the beeswax and coconut oil into your canning jar.
- Heat over a double boiler or microwave for a few seconds at a time until the wax has melted.
- If you want to add fragrance to your furniture polish, drop in essential oils into the mixture now.
- Give the polish a quick stir and then you can let it sit to harden and firm up in the jar, about 3-4 hours.
- Once it has fully set up, you can add a lid and store the jar in a cool dark place. Don't store this in a sunny location or hot room, because the oils will melt.
There are a variety of uses for this homemade furniture polish. Did you know you can even use it to update wooden cutting boards and utensils? Here's some more ways to care for wooden spoons.

That sounded so easy & I’ve read where it is used on projects painted with chalked paint, so it is something I think I might try! Thanks for sharing! I also liked the idea of adding a fragrance! ☺️👍
