How can I paint a laminate countertop in the guest bathroom?

I am in the middle of redoing my guest bathroom and now my countertop and walls don't go together, I don't have the $$ for a new countertop and would like to know if there is a way to paint it? it is a laminate. I need step by step prep and type of paint to use,hopefully not too expensive.Thanks

It's not too bad. They sell the complete kits for that sold at Home Depot. Step by step instructions are in the kit. Prep is very important. Have fun
You can rough-sand the counters, so the paint will stick.
Almost any type of paint should work if the surface is prepped well.
Hi Marianne! I can tell you how to paint your laminate counter tops with Dixie Belle :)
It is super easy to paint with Dixie Belle.
Step one: Clean with White Lightning
Step two: Apply two coats of Slick Stick
Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint
Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water-repellent finish
No sanding required!
