How to redo high chair?

I was given an old high chair, all wood, on the small side. We have a baby visitor every Sunday, and she is just the right age to sit up in the high chair. It came with a foam cushion and cover that I can handle, but I would like to do something safe and cute with the high chair. Anything goes! Your ideas, please. 😇 no photo, sorry

It sounds like it is an older highchair. perhaps you could strip it and restain it. No matter what you do I would give it a couple of coats of polyurethane. I have some antique pieces that my dad refinished and he top coated with polyurethane back in the eighties and they still look perfect, even the clawfoot dining room table. -

To be super honest, I would not allow a child in that chair for safety reasons. Codes and standards have changed. -

High chair sounds very cute...I have come across quite a few of these in my years in the antique business and to update it and clean it up for your sweet little visitor, I would spray paint it a nice neutral color like a soft green or blue or even white if you choose to match or complement the cushion material that you got with it...There are numerous colors of spray paints in your local WalMart that you could look over to see if you like anything...it would be the easiest and fastest way to paint this item..let it dry for several days and it should serve you well for a long time....always spray outside if possible... -

I have one that is very old and I refinished it. Sanded down the wood and restained it. Looks great and is ready to go when we need it.
