Can I just spray paint wooden crates without sanding?

    Sure, but they will feel like sandpaper and look rough.

    If they are bare wood, yes. If they have a finish that you are going to paint over then sanding wood be a good idea so the paint doesn’t rub off or peel.

    You sure can! if the have a finish just scuff it up with some sandpaper. No finish just spray away. Several light coats will get you a smooth finish.

    A lot of Hometalkers use chalk paint. claim is no sanding or prep. I haven't used it.
