Can I use DIY chalk paint on raw wood?

You can use chalk paint on raw wood however if there are knots you should put a coat of shellac or some type of sealer overHelpful Reply -

You can definitely use on the raw wood just keep in mind that raw wood will suck in a lot of paint. This will help if your going for a more distressed look but if you want a more even finish than I would recommend starting with a primer.Helpful Reply -

Yes you can use Chalk Paint directly over the wood. But if it's raw wood it will require additional coats of paint as the wood absorbs the paint. You could put a clear coat of shellac over the wood first.Helpful Reply -
