Alice, the main thing is to use a good quality paint that will hold up under all the abuse that kitchen cabinets get over the years. Here is a very popular video that I'm sure will help you. Put on your painting clothes!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8u9vT5xY8sHelpful Reply -

Hello Alice! In the kitchen my 1st choice would be an interior satin. I use Sherwin Williams in a high reflective white, and tint to colo of your liking. It’s not as shiny but enough durability for the kitchen cabinets. Easy to clean. Hope this helps. -IrelandHelpful Reply -

Mine were just done in a semi-gloss white from Sherwin Williams and they look wonderful. The cleaning, sanding, and priming are key points to prepare for the final coats.Helpful Reply -

I used a kit that contained nearly everything I needed from Rustoleum, Cabinet Transformations. You can see my process here: https://humboldtartdept.blogspot.com/2015/09/kitchen-cabinets-black.htmlHelpful Reply -
