Thrifty & Chic DIY Vintage Bench Makeover

I love a great DIY furniture makeover! My grandmother gave me this cute bench and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces of furniture in our farmhouse.
Before, this bench was pretty ratty looking but very sturdy and the perfect size!
I applied two coats of chalk paint to the base, distressed it with sandpaper, and then applied a coat of furniture wax to protect the paint.
For the seat I used a piece of fabric that I already had. I shared the details of this process on my blog.
The navy and white ticking fabric paired with the white distressed finish complete the farmhouse look.
This bench is the perfect size and so versatile. I've had it in multiple rooms in our farmhouse so far and it looks right at home in each room! Thanks so much for checking out this makeover! Have a question about this project?
Love how this came out. I have s bench that I want to repurpose too. My question is where can I find chalk paint in a off white color something like cream? Or can it be done with regular paint as well and then distress a bit to get that nice look? Any suggestions? Thanks!
