How do i get the distress look for my diningrm table ?

i bought paint & plaster of paris to make chalk paint to paint my diningrm table; however, how do i protect the newly painted surface for daily use ? or any other suggestions ?

    once you’ve painted and distressed to your taste you will need to seal the paint job. This can be accomplished by rubbing clear wax onto the surface, you could also do a combo of clear wax and dark wax (always start with clear) for an even more distressed look. You can also seal the chalk paint with a few coats of a polycrylic sealer

    Yes - do what Holly said - wax the table or paint with polyurethane.
