My next project is to experiment with chalk painting - I have several pieces of furniture to begin (a dresser and a coffee table).

You use chalk paint just like regular paint. It will cover most anything requires little or no prep work. Unless you are painting on a glossy surface you often don't even need to sand. Just go for it. The first coat always looks doubtful. The second coat... you are hooked. Nothing to it. You can finish with wax, antique the corners, sand edges to look aged or leave as it.

  • Hi Martha! I can tell you how to paint with Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint :)

It is super easy to paint with Dixie Belle.

Step one: Clean with White Lightning

Step two: Apply two coats of Slick Stick if the surface is slippery

Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint

Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water-repellent finish, or any of our clear coats for extra protection

    No sanding required!
