Painting clay pots what can I put on them to make the color last long?

    Use a paint that has a primer in it. Rustoleum even has a sealant spray that you can use after to make it last even longer.

    Clean spray paint and seal with a clear uv spray paint.

    Definitely go with a UV topcoat.

    I'd also base coat with a primer to get a more even color; then paint your final color & top coat with a clear UV spray paint to help minimize paint loss. You might consider a 'light' coat of the poly...as a thick coat tends to blister in direct sun & flake off.

    I use Patio Paint, you can get it at craft stores and it comes in small bottles like craft paint.
