You can use mineral spirits in a few different ways. The con would be that mineral spirits are very flammable and the fumes are toxic. Here's some info for you.

Mineral Spirits is a refined solvent. Mostly used as paint thinner, also a cleaner. A little more exspensive than just paint thinner. As a painter, I like the smell too, not fragrant but like the smell of cut lumber- means good work being done. Weird i know.
