What is best when painting a wall - roller or brushes?

I cut all the edges in with a brush and a roller for the big spaces. When rolling, you should use a few diagonal strokes as well us up and down to help the coverage.Helpful Reply -

My personal preference is a roller, but only because I have "orange peel" sheetrock walls, and I get better coverage. Come to think of it, other than cutting in, I always use some sort of a roller. I do thin coats in a modified "w" motion. Hope this helps!Helpful Reply -

I am the opposite of most and prefer a brush for everything. I feel that I waste too much paint with a roller and after 50 years of painting our house walks, have still not mastered the art of not splattering paint everywhere. Adding floterol to the paint helps to eliminate brush marks.Helpful Reply -
