This one is free and simple! Just gather a couple cans, your materials and some dollar store flowers.
I didn't have rust colored paint so I made my own by adding maroon, brown, tan, gold, and a tad of copper together. I just eyeballed mixture...sorry!
Prior to painting, I simply cleaned out two veggie cans, cut both ends on ONE, using that as top of vase, and then I superglued them together for a taller vase.
First, I used a light layer of chalk paint in GREY, then blue (peacock) very sparingly around the cans. Lastly, I used my new rust color paint to add the finishing touches, added a number stencil...and DONE!The copper makes it sparkle a little and I lightly sanded it so the aluminum shows thru in places. I really liked how it came out!
i had a lot of rust paint left so I took this glass vase and painted it, finishing it off with a patina wax. I am using it as a candle holder now! This is one of those unplanned projects that I fell in love with MORE than the can vase! Haha
Two new pieces of decor! I would have spent $10-20 on these items...I made them for free!
Thanks for stopping to take a look!
