Can you paint inexpensive lamanent kitchen cabinets?

I have inexpensive lamanent kitchen cabinets that unwound love to paint since I can't afford to redo my kitchen. Is it possible to paint them? If so, what are the steps I need to take since you can't stand them down. Thanks!

Yes, you can! If you use a high adhesive primer, you can then paint over with any latex, mineral or chalk paint of your choice. There are paints made especially for laminate surfaces, too. Sometimes you have to scuff the surface a bit with sandpaper, or use a liquid product such as Krud Kutter, which removes the gloss and makes it easier for paint to adhere. Good luck!

I painted a laminate cabinet in my kitchen a few years ago. I sanded it by hand to prep the surface and then used a primer followed by a high gloss paint. It still looks good today.
