How to paint a wooden tray that wil be used as a coffee station

It is stained antique white. I have the paint that was used on the walls. I wanted a rustic look.

Do a dry brush paint of one coat first and continue until you achieve the rustic look you want - be sure to lightly sand the edges and corners too. -

Maybe you can distress it or maybe paint a simple stencil design of a quilt pattern, say or maybe a bird or antiques letters spelling "Coffee 5 cents."
