Does anyone know what this wood is?

Can’t tell without a better pix of the grain pattern. Color looks like light maple so it could be maple especislly if it seems heavy for its size. I have also seen mahogany this color after it has been over stripped. If it is a newer chair, especially an import, it could be what they call “rubberwood.”

Could be light maple. I have a table that looks like that. Is it heavy?

I used to have a pot/pan rack that looked just like that. It was curly maple.
